(December 12, 2025) – We are excited to spotlight an extraordinary educator at the Harrison County Alternative School, someone whose compassion and dedication have made a lasting impact on our students and staff.
Congratulations to our November District Teacher of the Month, Ms. Kimberly Moore! Today, Mrs. Marcy Sherfield from the Huntington Learning Center surprised Ms. Moore with a $50 gift card, a certificate of recognition, teacher supplies, and balloons.

Ms. Moore has taught at the Alternative School for eight years. She has a total of ten years of classroom experience.

Here’s what her principal, Dr. Christopher Spencer, said about Ms. Moore: “It is my pleasure to recognize and congratulate Ms. Kimberly Moore, our Middle School Team Lead and Science/Cyber Foundations teacher, for being selected as the Harrison County School District Teacher of the Month. Ms. Moore’s professional excellence is evident in every aspect of her work. She is meticulous in facilitating PLCs, consistently setting clear expectations on the middle school side of the campus, and ensuring both teachers and students are accountable. At the same time, she models respect, compassion, and integrity in every interaction. Ms. Moore’s leadership and influence have been truly indelible. Her commitment to our students, her colleagues, and the mission of the Harrison County Alternative School is seen daily and greatly appreciated.”

Please help us congratulate Ms. Moore on this well-deserved honor!
